Professional photos

Yesterday we had several family pictures take in hopes of capturing some of my pregnancy.  Let's just say Reece has definitely had moments of being more flexible and cooperative but we were able to capture a few we are really happy with.
Thanks so much to Sam C Photography for your patience and wonderful pictures!

30 weeks

So I am way behind on updating my pregnancy.  While I don't have a 30 week picture we are having professional family photos taken tomorrow so I will be sure to post those once we get them back.  Needless to say we have been very busy.  After my last OB appointment when she began discussing labor and delivery with me I realized that whether I am ready or not, I need to get ready because Baby Matthews will be here before we know it!

How far along 30 and a half weeks!

About the babyBaby Matthews is the length of a cucumber.  He or she weighs about 3 pounds and is packing on the weight each week.

Maternity Clothes?: I actually have just about grown out of my regular shirts but am still able to wear regular clothes just a size or two bigger.

Sleep: Well I have been having crazy dreams lately which wake me up from a dead sleep and then am up for a few hours in the middle of the night.  My dream last night was that Gregg nearly missed the delivery and brought my hospital bags full of stained shirts, pants with holes, and no camera!!!  After I began yelling at him I was awake from 2 to 4 am.  Poor guy, he was just trying, right???

Best Moment of the week:  Having Gregg home all weekend.  He is back to his busy summer schedule which means we spend very little time together.  It was so nice to was up together and enjoy the beautiful weather on the lake all weekend!!

Miss anything?: I miss being able to stretch out on my back!

Movement: Baby Matthews is quite the mover and tumbler.  We are now visible able to see the baby moving in my belly, quite alienish looking!

Food cravings:  Ice cream and desert

Anything make you sick Not really

Labor Signs:  Not yet

Happy or Moody:  I would have to say I am pretty happy.  The weather is beautiful and I am feeling overall really good, what is there not to be happy about!?!

Looking forward to:  Beginning to work on the nursery.  As many of you now we have been on a major house hunt in hopes to be in and settled by the time Baby Matthews arrives.  Needless to say we have had no luck.  While this was causing me much stress and anxiety I have realized that many people raise children in much smaller spaces then we have and by no means are the children any less loved or happy!  So we have put together a plan to convert part of our "lake room" into the nursery.  We are hopefully gong to start working on it in the next week or two.  While our hope is still to find a house in the very near future, it at least allows me the comfort of knowing that we are getting things in place if Baby M decides to join us sooner than later!  I will be sure to share our nursery progress!

A few additional updates:
We have decided on our girls name, Caroline Mae after Grandma Moeller and have also narrowed down our boys choices to three but will wait to determine the name if Baby Matthews is born a boy!
My health overall is very good.  I am still seeing my OB bimonthly but my breathing and cardio issues have seemed to stabilize.  Because of all the health issues I have had my OB has suggested scheduling a C-Section for deliver.  While I have always dreamed of delivering a baby naturally and pulling them up to my chest, I am completely fine and comfortable with another C-Section.  She plans to schedule it for late July.  I may possibly go into labor on my own sooner but as of now we are excited and planning to meet Baby Matthews in about 8 more weeks!!

Teacher Appreciation Week

It is amazing that teachers are given one week for parents to show their appreciation.  Teachers deserve and should be thanked everyday for the amazing work they do.
Ms. Stachura is usually the first person to school and the last person to leave each day.  I think back to the first meeting we had and remember telling Gregg how nervous I was for Reece to have her, well I couldn't have been more wrong.  She is amazing. We constantly tell each other how lucky we are to have her as Reece's teacher.  While she has all the qualities we would want a teacher to have: patience, enthusiasm, laughter, kindness, did we mention patience just to name a few, what she has provided Reece is the belief in himself that he can write his name, that he knows the days of the week, that he certainly can read and comprehend a book all by himself, but mostly his overall excitement and passion for learning.  So one week doesn't begin to skim the surface of our gratitude for what she has given our child.
While we regularly try throughout the year to send her notes or emails thanking her, we also wanted to be sure she was honored this week!
We sent her in a few small gift cards for her to enjoy breakfast on us.  Our favorite gift by far was an idea I found on Pinterest.  It was super easy to assemble and Reece really enjoyed picking out the plant himself!

The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.
